This Tabriz is a quietly elegant wool antique rug, its ivory field and muted brown borders enlivened by a small repeating floral boteh and a faint central lozenge. The palette of cream, soft brown and pale terracotta has mellowed with time to a subtle, harmonious colourway. Medium distress and gentle abrash across the field give a soft, tactile patina without obscuring the intricate repeat. The borders retain well-defined floral guards and a measured sense of proportion typical of Tabriz weaving. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measurements: 340 x 409 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
