An octagonal European wool rug composed in a restrained classical vocabulary: a central floral medallion set within a laurel wreath, a terracotta-gold ground with pale garland swags, and a Greek key outer band. The neutral field has mellowed to warm ivory with painterly abrash; gold and brown tones carry a soft patina from medium wear. The wool fibre reads tactile and low, with subtle pile loss and softened edges that attest to age. This antique rug feels like an architectural textile, quietly decorative and refined.
