A large Sarouk in wool fibre, this antique rug measures 503 x 1021 cm and presents a broad red field punctuated by repeating palmettes and boteh-like motifs. A deep navy multi-band border carries gold and neutral accents that frame the centre with a measured, foliate rhythm. Wear is minimal, the surface showing low distress and soft abrash that brightens moments of the red ground. The wool retains a pleasing hand and the pattern reads clearly across the generous span.
