An accomplished Tabriz in wool, this antique rug measures 335 x 442 cm and is composed around a scalloped central medallion dense with botanical rosettes and palmettes. The warm red ground has softened beside cream, gold and sage details, while a deep navy outer border provides formal containment and delicate floral repeat. Wear is low and evenly distributed, the abrash lending a quiet, aged texture rather than loss. Circa 1900 - 1915 marks the design’s turn-of-century language and the tactility of a handworked Persian Tabriz rendered in restrained colour. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
