This Tabriz is an elegant study in softened colour and careful draftsmanship, an antique rug centred on a large floral medallion within a scalloped cartouche. The coral-red field has aged to a warm terracotta, accenting navy and cream foliate scrolls that trace the field. A sequence of narrow guard borders encloses abundant palmettes and curling vines; the wool pile retains low, even wear and a subtle patina. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measuring 282 x 381 cm, the rug’s surface shows gentle abrash and considered restraint, a quietly cultivated example of late 19th-century weaving.
