A generously scaled Semnan antique rug, 356 x 561 cm, showing a refined allover floral lattice worked in wool. The palette is cream and neutral with muted red and hints of soft green; the surface has softened with medium wear so the motifs sit within a lived-in, satin-like ground. Repeating guard borders of palmettes and scrolling arabesques frame the centre while even abrash and subtle colour shifts articulate its age. The piece reads as a considered example of traditional Semnan design, the wool fibres mellowed by time and use. Circa 1900 - 1950
