An elegant Semnan in wool fibre, this antique rug measures 300 x 411 cm and carries a quietly worn, collected presence. The field presents a dense all-over floral lattice of small rosettes and palmettes that form a repeating medallion rhythm, contained by multiple narrow guard borders and a broader botanical main border. A warm, faded red ground sits with neutral beige and brown tones and subtle navy and olive accents, creating layered colour and depth. Low distress and an even surface patina preserve the rug's tactility and long-lived character. Circa 1900 - 1915.
