This European wool rug, 277 x 310 cm, is an antique rug with a soft olive-grey field bearing paired floral medallions and a bold dark leaf border. The woollen pile keeps a tactile, low-sheen finish; areas of medium wear and subtle abrash have mellowed cream and brown motifs into a muted colour range touched by small red accents. The border’s large oak-like leaves and the central mirrored bouquets convey an early 20th century European aesthetic, the surface showing deliberate age and hand. Circa 1900 - 1920.
