This Tabriz antique rug is a generously scaled wool piece whose field is composed of dense floral arabesques and a broad floral border. Muted neutral, brown, cream and white colourways form a layered patina; areas of abrash and medium wear expose warmer undertones beneath a softened surface. Repeating palmettes, scrolling vines and hinted medallions create a patient rhythm that reads as both ornament and ground. The tactile pile and worn edges give it a collected, heritage-aware character, quietly shaped by time and craft. Circa 1925 - 1940. 292 x 404 cm.
