A Tabriz in wool, 213 x 318 cm, this antique rug carries a composed allover palmette and floral lattice across a warm brown ground. The red and cream motifs sit within layered guard borders and a wide cream-rose main border, the colours mellowed by light abrash and low wear. Edges are tidy with only minor fraying; the pile retains a soft hand that emphasises the woven ornament. Circa 1900 - 1915. The piece feels measured and tactile, a conversation between original design and the patient ageing of natural fibre. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
