This Tapestry is woven in wool with a calm pastoral composition, its colour palette of soft red, terracotta and warm brown tones rendered with subtle modelling. A group of figures, a winding stream and a distant cottage sit beneath a richly foliated canopy, contained by a repeating foliate border. The field shows medium wear and gentle abrash that lends a mellow, timeworn surface to the piece. It reads as an antique rug with painterly detail and tactile weave. Circa 1880 - 1900. Measurements: 249 x 183 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
