A long American Hook runner in hand-hooked wool, its cream field warmed by ochre abrash and framed by a rich brown outer band with pale grey-blue scalloped scrolls. Across the 61 x 592 cm length the piece shows visible panel-seams and medium distress; the pile is mellowed and edges show character from use. The repeating scroll border forms a measured frieze alongside a tranquil neutral centre, evidence of patient craft and prolonged wear. This antique rug retains clear pattern and tactile depth despite age. Circa 1880 - 1900. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
