A measured Tabriz in muted neutral, gold and brown tones, this antique rug presents a softly abrased stepped medallion set within an ivory-gold flowering border. The wool pile has medium wear, subtle abrash and a softened hand that unifies the floral arabesques and guard stripes into a calm, aged surface. Its drawn, architectural proportions and disciplined decorative vocabulary are evident at 188 x 274 cm, where the worn colourways read as patina rather than loss.
