This Amritsa wool rug measures 274 x 351 cm and is an exercise in muted, layered colour. A restrained central medallion opens to floral arabesques and multiple borders, the design articulated in soft pink and warm-tan against ivory and cream grounds. The wool shows an even abrash and medium distress that have softened the pile and mellowed contrasts, giving the surface a tactile, lived-in patina. The antique rug retains clear motif definition despite subdued tones and subtle edge wear; its atmosphere is quiet and considered, the result of decades of gentle use. Circa 1900 - 1945
