This Sarouk occupies a generous 414 x 531 cm wool field, its surface composed of intimate palmettes, linked boteh and sinuous vines on a warm red ground framed by a deep navy border. The wool shows a soft, tactile pile with restrained abrash and low visible wear, allowing the fine floral network and golden highlights to read with calm clarity. The dyes have mellowed into a warm patina, giving the piece the considered presence of an antique rug while the pattern retains its refined geometry. It presents a studied balance of colour and line that rewards close inspection. Circa 1900 - 1915.
