A measured Tabriz in wool, this antique rug is 290 x 406 cm. A soft cream field supports an expansive lotus medallion in warm browns and subdued taupe, its serrated petals articulated by fine floral arabesques and climbing vines. Corner roundels and repeated guard borders organise the composition with classical restraint. Surface condition shows medium distress with gentle abrash and softened pile that accentuate the rug's patina; edges are worn to match the field. The colour range reads neutral, cream, white and brown and the tactile hand conveys sustained use and quiet refinement. Circa 1900 - 1920.
