This Caucasian antique rug measures 104 x 168 cm and combines a red field with blue, ivory, and light blue ornament in a structured, resonant layout. Three geometric medallions anchor the centre, while the surrounding field is dotted with small motif groups and framed by a richly patterned border. The low distress is visible in the mellowed colour, light wear, and slightly uneven edges, which lend the piece an understated authenticity. Circa 1875 - 1895, it carries the clear graphic language and restrained density associated with Caucasian weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
