A lean Caucasian wool runner, 91 x 493 cm, defined by a deep navy central field threaded with a vertical tree-of-life and stylised floral medallions. Rust and cream borders enclose the composition, while light-blue and neutral highlights lift the palette. Low distress keeps the pile tactile and the motifs legible, with gentle abrash adding age and depth to the colour. The overall effect is composed and quietly architectural, a study in rhythm and tradition. This antique rug reads as an object of craft and restrained patterning. Circa 1885 - 1925.
