The prayer-niche form is framed by multiple borders, including a dark outer guard and narrow floral bands in ivory, blue, brown, and sand. The overall composition feels orderly but expressive, with small repeating motifs that create movement against the quieter centre. Circa 1880 - 1895, the rug shows low distress, subtle fading, and a softly aged surface that enhances its heritage character. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
