This Ravar Kerman antique rug measures 135 x 312 cm and presents a richly faded, time-softened surface. An allover lattice of palmettes, floral medallions, and boteh-like motifs fills the field, held within a slender floral border and worked in teal, green, cream, and neutral tones with traces of burgundy and faded rose. The wool pile carries visible patina and low distress, allowing the pattern to drift in and out of focus with an elegant, worn clarity. Circa 1910 - 1930, it has the layered, atmospheric quality that defines a well-aged antique rug.
