This Caucasian antique rug measures 97 x 292 cm and presents a long, narrow format with a restrained yet expressive visual rhythm. The neutral field is surrounded by repeating geometric cartouches in blue, rust, cream, and white, with slim guard borders that sharpen the composition. Extensive wear through the centre has mellowed the pattern, leaving a softly distressed surface full of character and age. Circa 1900 - 1925, it holds the direct geometry and balanced palette often found in Caucasian weaving, while the wool texture remains warm and tactile.
