This Caucasian antique rug measures 99 x 198 cm, and carries a saturated palette of blue, red, ivory, orange, and neutral tones. The composition is organised around a strong central run of octagonal medallions, each with crisp stepped outlines and radiant geometric centres, then enclosed by reciprocal borders and a narrow floral outer edge. The wool pile shows low distress, with gentle wear and softened colour that lend warmth to the design. Circa 1880 - 1900, it reads as a balanced tribal weave with a clear sense of rhythm, contrast, and age.
