This Caucasian antique rug measures 112 x 152 cm and shows a layered geometric arrangement built around three stacked diamond medallions on a deep navy ground. Multiple borders, worked in red, ivory, gold, and blue, create a strong frame and give the composition a distinctly structured rhythm. Wool adds warmth and texture, while the visible abrasion and fading mellow the colours into a softer, more timeworn register. Circa 1880 - 1900, it carries the expressive graphic language and heritage character that define Caucasian weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
