This Caucasian antique rug measures 99 x 391 cm, and presents a long, narrow composition with a strong tribal cadence. A central procession of stepped geometric medallions extends through the field, enclosed by layered borders, repeating angular motifs, and delicate floral guards. Brick red, rust, cream, muted blue, and darker notes create a balanced palette that has mellowed naturally with age. The wool surface feels settled and tactile, with low distress, gentle wear, and some irregular edge character that add to its lived-in presence. Circa 1885 - 1910, it offers the crisp geometry and restrained softness associated with a finely aged antique rug.
