This Kysari antique rug, 127 x 178 cm, is woven in silk and held in a muted palette of cream, sand, and faded red with touches of rose and soft brown. Its design centres on a tall mihrab-like field, surrounded by floral ornament, geometric framing, and layered borders that repeat medallion and vine forms. Medium wear has softened the drawing and lightened the contrasts, creating a calm, atmospheric surface. Circa 1850 - 1870, it carries the patina and visual ease that define an antique rug, while still retaining a clear sense of its original decorative rhythm.
