The composition is organised around a mihrab-shaped field, enclosed by multiple borders, floral details, and slender framing lines that lend the piece a measured, devotional quality. Medium distress is visible throughout, with heavier wear in the centre and gentle fading across the surface, softening the design language without diminishing its character. Circa 1885 - 1900, it has the hushed, layered atmosphere that defines a silk antique rug.
