This Kysari antique rug, woven in silk and measuring 196 x 274 cm, is composed in neutral white, cream, pale blue, and muted taupe. A layered central medallion anchors the design, while slender leaf forms radiate into a field of floral tracery and a detailed border of blossoms and vine scrolls. Circa 1885 - 1900, the medium wear has softened the contrast and given the surface a gentle, lived-in luminosity.
