This Bakhtiari in wool (147 x 213 cm) presents a panelled lattice of small compartments filled with stylised palmettes, leafy motifs and compact rosettes. An array of stepped guard borders frames the field, the composition resolved in cream and warm brown against a neutral ground. The piece is a quietly aged antique rug with low distress and an even surface, offering a soft, tactile patina across the pile and neat edge condition. The overall effect is one of considered restraint and handwork visible in the design vocabulary. Circa 1900 - 1920.
