Cream and white reserves sit against muted neutral tones; the silk fibre gives a discreet lustre while low distress preserves clear motif definition. Pale, foliate borders and restrained abrash lend an aged, textile patina without heavy loss. This antique rug presents a restrained, craft-focused composition where figure and foliage read as a continuous surface of handwork. Circa 1850 - 1865. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
