A silk Kysari in a panelled prayer-field composition, the piece shows softened mihrab arches with trees and floral sprays in a quiet cream and ivory range enlivened by worn red accents. High distress has introduced abrash and surface loss that mute the silk's former lustre and reveal a tactile, timeworn surface. Narrow cartouche borders frame the panels, the motifs reduced to gentle impressions by wear. This 180 x 282 cm example reads as an antique rug with an archival, heritage sensibility and subtle colouration. Circa 1850 - 1870 The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
