This Kysari in silk presents an antique rug with a generous medallion and a hushed palette of red, cream and muted neutrals. Floral arabesques and stylised trees form a layered field, while small animal motifs enliven the border. The silk fibre has relaxed to a soft, satiny finish and shows medium distress with even abrash and gentle edge wear that enhance the rug's cultivated patina. The proportions are 168 x 241 cm, a measured balance between scale and detail. Circa 1850 - 1870. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
