Woven in wool, this antique rug displays layered vine motifs and a run of narrow guard borders, all drawn with calm, refined detail. Low distress and a uniform sun-patina produce a tactile, matt surface while faint abrash and pale highlights attest to natural dye variation. Measurements 381 x 579 cm. Circa 1915 - 1930. The muted colourway and considered wear allow the medallion and border work to read with elegant clarity and quiet craft presence.
