A luminous Chinese wool rug with a rich green field enlivened by scattered floral sprays, vases and auspicious objects, contained by a broad burgundy floral border and narrow guard stripes. The pile shows low wear, a soft satin-like lustre and slight abrash where the field catches light; a faint central fold remains. This antique rug measures 325 x 549 cm and retains clear motifwork and layered colour, with cream and white highlights moderated by warm pinks and yellow tones. Circa 1915 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
