This Sarab runner in wool presents an antique rug with a warm neutral field and brown and gold registers, enlivened by turquoise and coral highlights. The centre shows a repeated palmette lattice softened by time; a series of narrow floral guard borders forms a careful, layered frame. Low distress and an even, velvety pile give a refined patina while subtle abrash adds depth to the colour. The runner measures 114 x 290 cm and retains tidy edges with minimal loss. Circa 1900 - 1915. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
