A Sarab in wool measuring 213 x 381 cm, this antique rug presents an austere, geometric vocabulary with three elongated lozenge medallions set on a pale diaper ground. Narrow guard borders carry alternating symbolic motifs in rust and navy, framed by a warm brown field that reads neutral from a distance. Low wear and gentle abrash lend a soft, tactile patina while patterning remains crisp and legible. Circa 1885 - 1900.
