This Chinese wool rug presents a muted, cream-to-beige field punctuated by scattered floral sprays, boteh references and a compact roundel with an animal figure at its centre. The composition is held by a meander inner band and a narrow floral guard in navy, rust and soft blue on a warm ground. Visible abrash and medium wear give the pile a soft, satin patina and a sense of age across the surface. Circa 1910 - 1930. Measurements: 386 x 531 cm. The piece reads as an antique rug with a refined, tactile restraint and considered, time-earned character.
