An understated Turkish wool rug with an allover arrangement of palmettes, rosettes and a scrolling vine lattice. The cream and brown ground has mellowed with time to reveal soft abrash and worn highlights that articulate the floral motifs and wide border. Medium wear has softened pile and introduced a gentle, tactile patina without obscuring design. The piece reads as an antique rug of quiet composure, its faded colour and delicate contrasts offering a sense of layered craft. Circa 1900 - 1920. Size: 264 x 386 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
