This Bakhtiari in wool presents as a large antique rug with a measured calm. A grid of scalloped medallions punctuates an ivory field, their rust and gold centres balanced by a brown, flower-filled ground. The borders show layered floral vines and a muted turquoise outer band, the whole palette softened by even abrash and surface wear. The piece reads as hand-aged rather than newly restored, the pile relaxed and tactile. Dimensions are 531 x 622 cm, a generous scale that emphasises pattern and texture. Circa 1900 - 1920. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
