A restrained Turkish wool ground in muted blue enlivened by soft neutral and warm brown foliate motifs. The composition is an allover lattice of floral medallions and clustered sprays, contained by a multi-band foliate border. Wear is moderate with even fading and subtle abrash that lends a layered patina to the wool fibre; there is a small area of surface loss towards the centre-right. This antique rug is 457 x 711 cm and reads as a collected, lived-in piece with considered proportion and texture, Circa 1880 - 1900. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
