A Bashir in wool, this antique rug presents a disciplined geometric field softened by a time-worn surface. Repeating diagonal lozenges form a steady lattice, each cell holding a modest rosette; slim borders repeat linked motifs to frame the piece. The colourway is restrained , cream and white highlights on warm brown lines , mingled with gentle abrash and even fading. Wear is medium with evident repaired patches and softened edges that emphasise a tactile, lived-in fibre. Circa 1885 - 1905. Measurements: 378 x 704 cm. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
