This Hamadan antique rug, measuring 147 x 287 cm, layers a mossy, time-softened field with faded pink, soft red, pale mint, and teal details. A stepped medallion chain runs through the centre, framed by floral scatter, slim inner borders, and side borders filled with oval cartouche-like motifs. The drawing feels both orderly and relaxed, with worn colour and softened contrast bringing out its age. Medium distress gives the surface an understated, tactile character. Circa 1925 - 1945, it reflects the grounded design language and hushed patina often sought in a Hamadan rug.
