This Mahal antique rug, measuring 295 x 508 cm, unfolds in an allover floral field of weathered turquoise, faded red, cream and soft grey. Layered borders frame a composition of scrolling palmettes and medallion-like motifs, all gently softened by age into a silvery, timeworn surface. Circa 1925 - 1945, it shows medium distress, with visible fading and a mellowed finish that lends the design an understated depth.
