This Mahal antique rug measures 262 x 315 cm and shows a gently faded field of floral ornament, worked in cream and white with muted red, sage and taupe accents. The border remains more legible than the centre, where wear has softened the pattern into a calm, layered wash. Its high distress level gives the surface a dry, timeworn character, while the remaining motifs retain enough detail to suggest the original design language. Circa 1910 - 1930, it is an atmospheric Mahal with an aged, tonal presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
