This Hamadan antique rug measures 86 x 396 cm and carries a long, slender composition shaped by age and wear. The centre field is worked in faded indigo floral forms, surrounded by ivory, rust and taupe tones, with charcoal details still visible beneath the softened surface. A narrow border frames the design, while the overall patina gives the rug a gently worn, layered character. Circa 1900 - 1930, it offers an understated sense of depth and a tactile, timeworn presence that remains clear in the drawing. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
