This Mahal antique rug measures 396 x 442 cm and presents a calm, weathered composition in ivory, cream, warm grey, and soft brown. The floral field is gently eroded, leaving traces of scrolling motifs, medallion forms, and a framing border that still holds its structure. High distress brings a pale, chalked softness to the whole surface, with strong fading and a lived-in patina throughout. Circa 1910 - 1930, it has the quiet depth and tonal subtlety associated with a finely aged Mahal. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
