This Ghiordes antique rug measures 145 x 173 cm and carries a striped composition softened by age, with cream, ivory, muted magenta, dusty rose, and warm ochre tones layered throughout. The design is built from alternating vertical bands, each holding zigzag stems, small floral devices, and geometric repeats that give the field a measured rhythm. Medium wear has mellowed the contrast and settled the colour into a calm, timeworn register. Circa 1885 - 1900, it has the character of a well-aged antique rug, with a faded surface and gently irregular edges that enhance its tactile, heritage-led presence.
