This Mahal antique rug measures 249 x 371 cm and shows the hushed richness that comes with long use and visible age. Its palette of neutral, white, cream, and brown is softened further by extensive wear, allowing the floral field and ordered border to appear gently abstracted. The composition still holds a centred medallion structure, surrounded by scrolling motifs that remain present beneath the distress. Circa 1900 - 1920, it offers a subdued, time-worn surface with strong character and a distinctly lived-in finish. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
