This Ghiordes antique rug measures 132 x 193 cm and presents a prayer-like layout with a softly faded, timeworn presence. The deep blue central field is surrounded by cream, white, and neutral borders, with small floral details and geometric bands in muted red lending quiet rhythm. Medium distress is visible across the wool surface, giving the rug a subdued patina and an invitingly worn texture. Circa 1850 - 1865, it reflects the balanced ornament and restrained colour palette often associated with Ghiordes weaving, here rendered with graceful age and character.
