This Mahal antique rug measures 323 x 493 cm and carries a spacious allover floral design in faded rust red, blue, teal, and neutral tones. The border system remains intact, with a narrow inner guard border and a broader outer frame that encloses the softly worn field. Wool pile shows medium distress, visible fading, and subtle tonal variation that lend the surface a quiet, lived-in character. Circa 1910 - 1940, it has the graceful, open drawing and softened palette often associated with Mahal weaving, expressed here with a particularly mellow, well-aged presence.
