This Kurd antique rug measures 109 x 157 cm, with a deep brown ground set against cream latticework and small geometric motifs in rust, blue, and muted teal. The composition is orderly but lively, shaped by repeating blossoms and multiple borders that give the piece a composed, hand-made presence. Woven in wool, it has a softly aged surface with low distress, light wear at the edges, and a palette that has mellowed into earthy warmth. Circa 1880 - 1900, it offers a restrained yet characterful expression of traditional Kurd design.
